Organizer: Indian science is now considered one of the most powerful instruments of growth and development, especially in the emerging scenario and the competitive economy. In view of recent developments and new demands placed on the S & T system, we need to embark on major scientific projects that meet national needs and will also be relevant to the technology of tomorrow. The Department of Science and Technology plays a central role in promoting science and technology in the country. The department has a wide range of activities ranging from the promotion of high-end basic research to the development of advanced technologies, on the one hand, to meet the technological needs of the common man by developing skills and technologies appropriate, on the other.
Contest Details: To commemorate the 150th anniversary of the birth of Mahatma Gandhi, the Government of India has planned to carry out several activities throughout the year to defend his ideals. Promote Gandhi's idea of self-sufficiency Department of Science and Technology has instituted the Grand Challenge Award for Design smart, easy-to-use solar cooking solutions.
The objective of the award is to develop efficient and user-friendly solar cooking solutions, adapted to (a) domestic kitchen (5 people), (b) small community kitchen (50 people) and (c) large community kitchen (300 people).
