Contest Outline:
Startup Mania 4.0 by by CII, YI, Nativelead & TBI@KEC brings together aspirants, Innovators, Startups and Students of undergraduate, post-graduate and PhD from the Science, Engineering, Medical, Polytechnic and Management streams of colleges and universities across TamilNadu to shape their innovative ideas for the future.
Categories:
Innovative students: UG / PG students from colleges of engineering, colleges of arts and sciences, B schools, polytechnics, colleges of medicine and colleges of agriculture.
Other innovators: former students, young entrepreneurs, start-ups, entrepreneurs and professionals in activity.
Rules and Guidelines
Registrations can be submitted by individuals or teams. A team can consist of up to 3 members.
A team can only submit one idea. In addition, a person can only be a member of one team.
Registration for the "Business Model Competition" must be made by midnight on 30.1.2019 at the latest.
There is no registration fee.
After a careful evaluation of the entries submitted, we will pre-screen the participants in the preliminaries.
Pre-selected participants will be announced online and informed by email. For preliminary events, pre-selected participants will be required to prepare a presentation in the prescribed format.
The presentation must be sent to startupmania1@gmail.com no later than 16.12.2019 at 16:00.
On the day of the preliminary phase, the Business Model should be presented only in the prescribed format. Please download the template in contest website. No more than 15 slides.
Business plans can be explained in English and Tamil. But make sure the content of the presentation is mainly in English. Tamil content can be included if necessary.
Pre-screened participants for preliminaries will make their own arrangements for food and travel to the venue.
The team selected for the finals must attend a 3-day training camp (residential) at TBI @ KEC.
Only 2 people per team can participate in Bootcamp.
Bootcamp participants must arrange their own return trip.
Stay and food for 3 days of Bootcamp will be taken care of by the organizers.
The jury's decision will be final.
The participants selected for the finals will appear at the "grand finale".
The "Startup Mania" event is scheduled in advance and we ask all participants to respect the deadlines. We ask participants to be available on the site well in advance of the scheduled time.
Judging Criteria :
Simplicity of the business model described
Credibility of the business idea
Likelihood that the team can create a sustainable competitive advantage
Size and growth rate/ scalability
Specifically, judges will evaluate on the following criteria:
Uniqueness/ innovativeness of idea or business model
Technical feasibility (Know How & Do How)
Commercial Viability (Market, Growth/Scalability etc.,)
Social relevance (Impact on societal needs/ problems etc.,)
Team strength (Execution capability/ Complimentary skill sets)
