The AICTE Vishwakarma Awards 2019 is in the 3rd Edition which is organized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to promote the innovative spirit and scientific temperament of holistic development of society through the stakeholders of its accredited institutes. By means of this competition, the innovations and achievements of individuals and institutions / organizations will be recognized and applauded.
Vishwakarma awards are inspired by the spirit of engineering and creation created by Lord Vishwakarma, the reigning deity of construction practices in India. According to Rigveda, Lord Vishwakarma is considered a deity who is originally creator, architect and divine engineer of the universe. The Awards are therefore a way to provide a platform for the participation holders to address societal challenges, with the aim of providing an innovative approach and cost solutions. However, this is not just a contest, it will also encourage students focus on practical skills and also foster convergence and collaboration in ways that on the durable solution to the problems. These rewards embody the encouragement really successful efforts that have made a mark on the industry or society in terms of provide better results and processes and create higher benchmarks. Where the prices are intended to motivate young people, inspiring leaders and institutions / organizations to improve their performance in their specific areas, resulting in a significant contribution towards the growth and development of the nation as a whole.
2019 Vishwakarma award focuses on “How to enhance the income of a Village”.
Problem Statement Themes:
Livelihood – It may include small scale manufacturing, handicraft, pottery, tourism (desert tourism, water tourism, village tourism), rural infrastructure, rural health care, education (app base technology, e-education in rural area, etc.) and many more.
Waste management – management of agriculture waste, non-agriculture waste, human waste (on site sanitation), household waste, livestock waste, manufacturing waste, etc.
Crop waste management (parali/para etc.) — onsite technology/ mechanization for converting into manure and other valuable products etc.
Value addition of Agriculture produce, Agro industry and Rural handicraft— marketing models ( (farm to fork), warehouse, packaging, innovation in traditional agricultural practices, etc.
Farm and flock – Hybrid farming, Polyhouse farming (through simple and cost effective technology), enhancing output from livestock, agriculture, allied activities like sericulture, horticulture, Dairy farming, etc.
Water – Water resource replenishment and management, low cost water purification, water conservation, rain water harvesting, water recharge, making saline water potable, innovation in irrigation practices, etc.
Land – land management, soil improvement, land record management, soil nutrient enhancement, organic farm practices, etc.
Energy – Low cost Renewable energy, Nano and Micro grade energy management, innovation in solar energy, innovation in battery technology, etc
Category for Award Awards will be given in following categories:-
(a) Category-I for Students:
Chhatra Vishwakarma Awards for Outstanding Innovative Team (Students & Mentor).
(b) Category-II for Institution:
Utkrisht Sansthan Vishwakarma Award for exemplary Institutional intervention.
Who can Participate:
All institutions/ students as approved by AICTE are covered under this award. Nominations/Applications from girls/women are especially encouraged….!
All winners will receive awards and a Scroll of honour in an event likely to be held in January 2020 at AICTE HQs., New Delhi
